dylan suhajcek writes the following about On The Edge :
On The Edge Based around the beach and culture of surfing, ‘On the Edge’ is an anthology of stories that is both interesting and entertaining, written by John McLean. Although the main character in each story is your stereotypical surfer and each story is based around surfing and its cultures, they all tell a different tale e.g. ‘A Matter of Karma’, (a short story in the book) is about a young male surfer who gets 2 million pounds from the bank (due to a computer glitch) and travels the world surfing, and a story called ‘Dirty Business’ which is about a surfer who is sick of waste being thrown into the ocean, so he decides to try and do something about it. This book would best suit a young male that is aged 13-20 years who has an interest in surfing or anything to do with surfing, because of the ‘slang’ used might only be understood by a person with a surfing background. Each story will keep you very interested and wanting to read the next story, just to see if it is as good as the last. By Dylan Suhajcek, year 11
