Rachel writes the following about The Year of the Hangman :

In this book, The Year of the Hangman, the main character, Creighton, is shipped off to the colonies for being too rebellious. Once there he discovers the reality of working hard. He also realizes that just because he is a 15 year old boy, his opinion and his actions make a big difference. Throughout this book, Creighton learns what honor really means and finds out where his loyalty lays.
