Peter Smith writes the following about The Stuff of Nightmares :
Malorie Blackman’s “The Stuff of Nightmares.” Kyle loves going for runs in the mornings but today is different, someone creeps into Kyle’s head. That’s been happening a lot more than normal, but why? In this terrifying story, The Stuff of Nightmares, by Malorie Blackman. Perry (Kyle’s mate) strikes up the conversation of what there greatest nightmare is, while on the boring train ride. When Kyle is about to tell them what his greatest fear is, the train gets hit by something, toppling over the train and knocking Kyle out. After Kyle gains conscientiousness and after a series of events the reader will find them self’s in one of Kyle’s friend’s nightmare. When you escape you find you’re self in a few more of theses twisted supernatural stories. Kyle meets a girl on the train called Rachel who will explain why he is going into peoples nightmares but still leave you more questions to ask. In this book you won’t get bored due to heaps of different stories of Kyle’s friends nightmares. It being a first person point of view does give it some disadvantages because for the first few nightmares Kyle’s observing the nightmare from the side but latter on he actually becomes the so you actually start to get confused and it is hard to follow which character you are talking about. This spooky but griping book would have to be one of Malorie Blackman’s best books. This great book is for ages for 14+
