carly roberts writes the following about Leftovers :
This book was about a highschool girl named Sarah that got sent to a camp called Camp Dog Gone Fun to do community service hours. She has to do commuinty service hours because she took her mom's boyfriend's brand new car and crashed it. The thing that set Sarah off was when he tried to take a picture of her. Sarah never has liked people taking pictures of her, but little does everyone know there is an important reason behind that. Sarah's dad also just passed away but she wasn't really bothered by it because she couldn't stand her dad. Her dad was a chef and owned his own restuarnt. After he died her mom was putting the restuarnt up for sale. While Sarah's mother and her boyfriend were cleaning out the resturant they found a box with pictures in them. It turns out that Sarah was being abused by her father since before she said she could remember. He made her take nude pictures after the restuarnt closed up every Tuesday and Thursday. Sarah's mom could't believe what was going on and felt terrible that she didn't know any of this was going on. After people find out about Sarah's past and she tells people, she tries to move on with her life. She burns the pictures and tries to put everything behind her. She decides to stay at the camp because she met a boy there that became her boyfriend and kept the dog that she was in charge of.
