k.,fiona - 5 writes the following about Hoot :
the book hoot was a wonderful book with great literary devices. The author, Carl Hiaasen really got the message across that even 3 kids can make a difference. Roy, Beatrice, And Mullet Fingers all set out to help the owls. Even though they are discouraged time and time again, they never give up, and keep strong. This shows a lot of determination, and that they know that they have to fight for what is right.

I really enjoyed this book because it shows that anyone can make a difference, no matter how small, or weak they are. It also uses literary devices such as foreshadowing, and foil very well in this book. I understand that maybe a lot of people might not like it, but i know i am on eof the people who do.
