The Princess Academy, by Shannon Hale, is a wonderful book; for children and teens. It’s centered around a young girl, Miri. Who lives upon the slopes of the Mount Eskel, where the people there pound stone for a living. Then suddenly the king’s priest of the lowlands chose Mount Eskel as the new divined spot where the prince will find his new bride to be. The girls of Mount Eskel including Miri and friends must complete Princess Academy, a school where the teen girls must learn etiquette, speech, history, and manners to win the prize of being a princess.
