The novel Hoot had everything a great book has, but the story wasn't the best. Mr. Hiassen had everything in Hoot, he had an exposition that really gave you all the information you need about the book. His rising action was done beautifully with everything that was necessary, it informed you with all aspects of the conflicts. The rising action did everything to lead you up to the climax of the book. The climax was well written, and really showed a change in Roy. The falling action well followed the climax and lead the reader into the resolution very well. The conclusion did an excellent job of closing the novel.
Although he did so well writing this book he lacked excitement in his novel. In this novel Mr. Hiassen did not put much excitement in this novel. He could have packed much more excitement into this novel by using more descriptive language in some of the more exciting scenes. Or you could put more exciting scenes into the novel. Also the conflicts were simple, and childish. The reader will agree that even though the plot and usage of mechanics is sophisticated, the other parts of the novel were childish. After all this novel was average.
