Felicia K. writes the following about Uglies :

The book Uglies was about a girl named Tally. She lives in a world were at 16 years old you become pretty and you live in New Pretty Town. Tally's freinds Peris just became a Pretty. And now Tally found a new friend named shay. Shay doesn't want to become a Pretty and is running away and Shay wants Tally to come with her. But tally wants to become pretty so she says no. On Tallys 16th birthday she gets taken to a place that is not were she gets the operation. Tally has to find Shay and give her up and make her become pretty or stay Uglie for life. But you have to read the book to find out what happens in the end. I loved the book. I thought it was amazing. It was the best book I ever read. If you like fun mature books then this is the book for you. Also if you read it and you like it then you should read his other books.
