Darrick writes the following about The Jacket :
This book is about two boys named Phil and Daniel. One day Phil’s brother left his lunch money on the counter so Phil go it off the counter. Next there was Phil rushing through the fourth grade hallway and he saw his little brother with his red jacket on but guess what? It wasn’t his brother it was a black kid named Daniel! Phil said you stole my brother’s jacket Daniel says no, my grandmother gave this jacket to me. Phil was walking in the hallway and there was the jacket in the office, That made him feel weird. Next Phil goes into the office takes the jacket and quickly run’s out the office. Then he goes over to Daniel’s street. What do you think Phil will do with the jacket. Finally I give this book a eight and for the illustrations I give it a seven in-half because I think the author should have showed Phil and Daniel more
