manimouse writes the following about Hinds' Feet on High Places :
A very kind lady gave this book to me, because I was dealing with fear due to my childs health. I had no idea what I was in for! It is an allegory in it's every detail. I loved the way the characters that were her(the main characters) mean relatives, were actually thoughts that satan attacks us with. The main characters name is Much Afraid. She feels that she isn't worth anything, her feet are gimpy, and her mouth is crooked. She is always fearful. The sheperd (Jesus) takes her on a journey through the treacherous mountains, up to the high places, where she is given Hinds'(deer)feet to travel swifty through the steep precipices. She learns to trust, accepting with joy the hard things, and bearing with love; forgiving without bitterness. She falls in love with the sheperd and only wants his will for her no matter the cost. It was so inspiring that I will never be the same. It is written with such wisdom, from someone who really knows and has surrendered to the Lord. Both the author, and main character (Much Afraid) have found selfless love, and true joy that's not affected by circumstances. It is a wonderful book for any christian, no matter where they are in their walk! It could really be a blessing to someone that can't seem to understand why God can let bad things happen to "good people". It is full of strengthening nuggets that I will be able to remember when my "mean relatives" begin to have their way in my mind. I can't say enough about the inspiration that that I walked away with having read this book! I was unable to put it down once I started!
