Grace Paszek writes the following about "The Giver" :
The Authors purpose for writing "The Giver" is to compare and contrast our society to their society. Jonas's society is a whole lot different than ours. They don't see color, snow, weather. They don't even see or have sameness or twins etc. The Author had very well writeen desciptions of the characters and settings. The Author also made a very well descriptive plot. I think everyone would like the book if you are into learning new things and you like fiction books. I would give the book an 8 out of ten or 4 stars for the entertainment value. The entertainment was provided well in the novel. There were happy and sad moments in the novel. One thing I necessarily did not like was the fact that they could not see color. I did not really get that concept. How can't you see color, i mean literally? Everyone can except for those fictional people and maybe the physically blind people, but they can't help it. So, there is my book review of the book, "The Giver".
