The book I read was the Westing Game. This book has multiple plots and is very confusing. 16 characters are fighting for an estate that’s worth 200million dollars. The person that they’re inheriting the estate from a person they barely know, if they even have heard of him. There are lots of main characters in this book. One is a kid named Theo who is 17-years-old and is a writer who is choosing to get a job and get money for his family rather than taking a full scholarship to a college named Madison. Another main character is a snotty 13-year-old girl named Tabitha Ruth Wexler (also known as turtle, she got the name Turtle from her mom when she was a baby because her mom said that when she stuck her head out of a blanket when she was a baby she looked like a turtle.) Turtle’s other habit s kicking people in the shins all the time. The main setting of this book is the Westing House. Samuel J. Westing is the man who died and owned the estate. All the conflict happens there, which is very confusing conflict too. Who will win this dead man’s estate? Or is he really DEAD?!?!
What I liked about this book is that it was confusing he other time because it even gives a fake resolution. You don’t really know the true ending until the 2 last pages of the whole book. It will keep you guessing what will happen next every page.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery book. I think this is the best mystery ever and one of the better books I’ve read. If I had to rate this book on a 1-10 scale I’d have to say a 7.5. The only reason I’d give it that reason is because most of the characters didn’t make much sense and some were really annoying, but I still really like this book for the good story inside the book.
