Gabby christensen writes the following about Shadow Kiss :

Rose a to be guardian is in love with her moroi's(lissa the last one in her royal family the Dragomir's) other guardian but they can not ever show their love because they must always be ready to kill any evil thing that crosses their path and endangers their charge, and they cant do that if they are in love because they will want to save their lovers instead of their charge. So Rose has to choose between her charge and the man she loves. I highly recommend you read the first of the series Vampire Academy and the second of the series, ForstBite before you read this dieign romantic story. But if you are into vampires and you sont know where to start, start out with the Vampire Academy series its is a really good book series. Read them they really are a good series:)
