The book I read is a historical fiction book with the themes of love and loyalty. Elisabet Holder's father, Captain Holder, has been taken prisoner by the British because they thought he had a very valuable map. Elisabet has to stay with relatives she's never met. There she finds out that the map is hidden, so she tries her best to find it to win her father's freedom. The map is worth alot of money, $2,000. If she found the map she would give it to the British army. Elisabet searches and searches, then she finds it. Elisabet gets the map, but her friend takes a fake map to the British. The British thought the map was real so they let Elisabet's father free. Finally, at a bakery, Elisabet hears a familiar voice, and when she turns around her father is there. Then Elisabet and her father live a happy life. I liked the book because it was mysterious. Also it is the best history book I've ever read. Finally it was spooky. One similarity between this book and Marisol is the main characters in each book had to move. Another similarity between the two is that the characters both met new friends. Also one difference between the books is that my first book took place in modern time and this book took place in the 1800's.
