writes the following about Across Five Aprils :
The book“ Across Five Aprils ” was very boring to me. I really could not get in to it that well. It was very plain. It was very hard for me to understand. The words were all spelled wrong and that was kinda confusing to me.

I do not understand why it is a “NewBery Honor book”. I was very disappointed that Irene Hunt told what happened to the brothers that went to the war. I my opinion it was a very complex and confusing book. I think it should have been more emotional. I think that if it was more emotional that readers would have gotten in “ Across Five Aprils ” more.

Overall, in my opinion, the book could of had way more potential. It was very plain and bland. I think the ending was not very good at all. I don not think Irene Hunt went into enough detail of to what happens to Jethro and his brother’s and his family. That’s what I thought of the book “ Across Five Aprils ”.
