This is my fifth review here in buildingrainbows.com. This is about a very romantic book I have read when I was six. It is called Ella Enchanted. It is about a girl named Ella who is under a spell that she has to obey everything anyone tells her. Her mother then dies after not drinking the disgusting-looking cure made by her friendly chef who turns out to be a fairy godmother, Mandy.
While Ella is in the midst of breaking the spell, she meets Char, a prince whom she falls in love with. Her father then marries Madam Olga, a socialite who has two bratty daughters who join Ella in a boarding school.
Then, Ella and Char fight. Char holds a ball to find his new lady. Ella is forbidden from escaping. But, she finds a way. She dresses in a fine dress she finds and disguises as Lela, Char's new replacement. Char doesn't know about it. When Ella escapes, she has to fight so hard to break the spell and prove her secret crush to Char.
This is similar to Cinderella because of the fact her father remarries and she has two stepsisters, that her prince also held a ball and she reveals who she is. Please read this! Gail Carson Levine has created a wonderful story that will touch all readers' hearts!
