Heat, by Mike Lupica, was hot, on fire! Michael Arroyo and his brother Carlos, moved from Cuba to New York City with their father, who since passed away, and they are broke. Because of this, they are worried they will be put into foster care by the city. Micheal, a phenomenal pitcher, wants more than anything to go to Yankee Stadium and see his idol, El Grande. As he tries to make it to the Little League World Series, he fights with his new girlfriend and jokes with his best friend Manny. In the end, Michael manages to resolve his problems.
