Andrew splashes, squishes, drips and messes around. He’s a lovable young boy, but he can try the patience of anyone, even his guardian angel, Sam. “The Time-for-bed Angel” is a bedtime story that reassures preschool-aged children that they are being watched over and loved in unseen ways. Many adults will relate to Sam, the harried angel whose great joy comes from getting his charge safely to bed.
Ronica Stromberg succinctly tells the story of a busy young boy who keeps his guardian angel hopping. The whoel story is told in about 300 words, which is nice for a tired parent. Drawings by Kristina Stephenson flesh out the text and combine to create a picture book that should delight both child and adult.
This book is designed to sooth and comfort busy children before bed, and I think it meets its goal nicely.
