India_X writes the following about The Magician's Nephew (Lewis, C. S. Chronicles of Narnia (New York, N.Y.), V. 2.) :
The Magicians Nephew is about the adventure of Polly and Digory. One of them gets tricked in to going to another world. They don't know where they are and they meet other "beings". Polly and Digory have some quests to fulfil but will they suceed in them?
I think this book is well written, and people who like fantasy books will thoroughly enjoy this book. I don't really like fantasy's, so the Magicians nephew wasn't really my thing. At times I do think that C.S Lewis goes in to a little bit too much detail. I love some of his ideas though. He includes magic, in a thrilling tale.
Overall I would rate this story at 7 out of ten because although it is exciting, it can be a bit unrealistic at times and C.S Lewis can go on a bit. This story was only the beginning of the chronicles of Narnia, so there is a bit more to come!
