Angela writes the following about Sing Down the Moon :
Bright Morning is 14 year old Navaho girl in the 1860's. She is captured by Spaniards and sold into slavery. She manages to escape with help from a Nez Perce girl, but shortly upon returning home her tribe is driven by white man from their canyon to a resorvation. Known as a long walk, this unfortunate event actually occured. Native americans in the four corners area were forced to leave their homes and move to Fort Summer to live. Bright Morning, however rfinds the courage to flee and return home with her husband. (Native Americans)
