Jade Stirling writes the following about The Magician's Nephew (Chronicles of Narnia, Book 1) :
The Magian's Nephew is a good book, I truly recommend it.
In the story, there are two kids called Polly and Digory who travel to Narnia using some magic rings. They got there because of Digory's selfish uncle who used them as guinea pigs. On their travels they meet the most beautiful but deadly witch.........................
I really liked the way C.S Lewis wrote the book in so much detail, it created a clear picture in my head which was very good.
Also at the end of most chapters there was a cliff hanger. Which made me hunger for more!
In some cases though, the book seemed to drag on, as there was loads of detail on things i didn't want to hear. But it was written fantastically, I just wishthat it would get to the point.
The illustrations were fantastic and only showed the best part. I would give the illustrations a 9 as they were so descriptive !
The rating for The Magician's Nephew story, I would give a 8.5, it appeals to all ages and it's a fantasy/adventure.
It's very descriptive, but sometimes too long.
But a very good story altogether. It captures the magic in the story very well.
I recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
