The starving Time is about a girl from England. She sailed over on the ship to the Jamestown Colony in North America. She sailed with her best friend she met on the ship. Her name was Jessie. When they got to Jamestown Jessie had to go back to England. IT was very sad for Elizabeth but she made through it. In the beginning of the fall they got the supply ship from England. It had all the food to last through the winter, or did it? The colonists didnt know how harsh the winters were in North Amercia. So, they ate all the food to quickly and there was no food to supply them for the other half of the winter. Some of the men in fort went to steel food from the indians but most of them were killed and never came back. There was also a sick shed. People has to work there and help sick people get better. The Starving Time is a wonderful book for the ages 8-12. It has alot of facts and is perfect for a school book. Do you think that Elizabeth and her family will find enough food for the winter?
