bubblez writes the following about Jakeman :
JakeMan The book Jakeman was my favorite book. The characters were Jake (Jakeman) ,Shoshana and other orphans that don’t have parents. They go every three months on a bus to visit their mom in Wickham prison, but Jake writes to the governor a lot saying if he could pardon his mom from the prison. The governor only wrote back once saying he was an annoying kid. Jake has a problem with stealing pens to draw his comic, “Jakeman”. My favourite setting in this book is only on the bus because most of the excitement is on the bus and theres is a lot of funny stuff going on in there. My favourite character is harlan. Harlan is going to the prison to se his aunt because his mom died of a sickness. Reading this book is sort of sad for the kids because they don’t have any money to buy stuff and they keep moving every month. I would think it would be hard to keep moving to different families and houses. My favorite part in the book is when they are on the bus and Harlan tries driving because he is older than Shoshona and they start fighting about who should drive, but obviously, Shoshona drives because Harlan is such a crazy driver. I read this book and I thought it was awesome and I would definitely read this book again! By: Alexus
