Taje writes the following about Fight for Life :
“Fight For Life" If you like animals and like reading stories about them, then “Fight For Life” by Laurie Halse Anderson is the right book for you. “Fight For Life” is about a eleven year old girl named Margaret, but everyone calls her Maggie. Her parents tragically died when she was just a little baby, so she now lives with her grandmother(a. k. a Gran) who is a vet. Like some students, Maggie doesn’t like homework or tests, because she mostly get’s C's,D's, and sometimes even F's. One day while Maggie was training a patient’s dog, Mitzy , with the help of her own dog, Sherlock , a woman ran into the animal hospital with a sick dieing puppy. Maggie and Gran thinks its no big deal, its just one little puppy, another patients rushes in with two more sick puppies and screaming twins. Then about the next hour or two, an other lady rushes into Gran’s animal clinic with a picnic basket full of sick dieing puppies. Then the lady reveals that she found them in a farmers market and every time they would whine, he would abuse them badly. Will Maggie’s love for animals get her in some very hot water? You have to read the book to find out. This book is such a fantastic, thrilling book that I would recommend to anybody who loves animals, especially puppies. It is great book because some students can relate to Maggie who really doesn’t like school because they work hard, but they still come out short. Also, it shows you the laws about mistreating a dog or a puppy. Also, did you know hat you could go to jail for 5 years for mistreating a puppy or a dog? And it doubles by how many you have! I never knew that, but this book aught me it. Also, I could relate to loving dogs and puppies because I have a puppy that just turned in to a normal sized dog. Her name is Sashaphina, and she’s three years old. She is a miniature Pinscher and I love her to death and never imagined mistreating her, and never will. You will love this book and will be excited just to turn the page. It leaves you with cliff hangers and makes you want to turn the page to the next big chapter, its like love at first paragraph.
