Sounder was written by William H. Armstrong and illustrated by James Ransome. It is about an African boy who works on a farm, and who owns a dog called Sounder. The boy's father steals ham for his family and he is caught.
I thought this book was confusing because the author seemed to skip parts of the story, and a couple of times I thought my book was missing pages. If you like action-packed books, this is good for you. However, if you do not like sad books, don't read this one.
