I believe this is a good book, because it has some great stories and some terrific artwork. The pictures help those who are not very strong in reading to understand the stories. The first story is The Thing on the Doorstep by H. P. Lovecraft. This story is about a witch who can possess the bodies of others. The second story is Some Words with a Mummy by Edgar Allen Poe. This story is about some scientists who bring a mummy back to life. The third story is In a Far Off World by Oliver Schreiner. This story is about a girl who meets a god. The fourth story is The Monkey’s Paw by W. W. Jacobs. This story shows that you should be careful what you wish for. The fifth story is The Open Window by Saki. It shows that you should get to know someone before you judge someone. The sixth story is A Daydream by Fitz-James O’ Brien. It is about a man who does not like guns. The seventh story is Keesh Son of Keesh. It is about an Indian who wants to marry a girl from another tribe. The eighth story is Professor Jonkin’s Cannibal Plant by Howard R. Garis. It is about a plant that eats meat. The ninth story is The Beast of Averoigne by Clark Ashton Smith. It is about a monster that can take the form of a comet. The tenth story is Selina Sealina by Bret Harter. It is about two people with very bad pasts who want to marry. I recommend this book to anyone.
