ricky Bailey writes the following about safe are Gorazde :
this graphic novel is a very emotional book about the bosnian war from 1992-1995 and of the ethnic cleansing that had occured during that time. muslims of all types were rapes, killed, starved and treated unhumanely during the bosnian war by the serbs. the religion is what they were ethnically cleansing. the book goes into the are of gorazde during the war that was cut off and stranded and being attacked and deprived of water, electricity, and food because supplies couldnt get their. the book is told from the perspective of a journelist who is told of the storys of the people from the area. alot of refugees fled to gorazde becuase it was supposably a safe zone but it wasnt it was still being attacked and artillery'ed and also is was under conditions. the book goes over what the people had seen and how they had been surviving and all the grusome affects the war has had on their physical and mental health. this book is a extremely well book not only telling you what is going on but showing you to the point that it will make you wonder how us humans can treat each other this way. i would recommend this book only to mature indivisuals because of the language and images it does show.
