This book was a great book! I rate it a 9 because it interested me a lot. Well the beginning was not as interesting as the end, but it really was a good book. The book itself just wants you to keep reading and never stop. Natalie Babbitt wrote a wonderful book because it really gets intense! The story starts off that a little girl named Winnie who wants to runaway. As she is out in her wood, she gets lost. Then she sees a boy drinking out of a spring. His name is Jesse Tuck. She asks Jesse if she could drink from the spring, but surprisingly he says “NO!” She has no idea why he says no and she soon finds out. She finds out because Jesse’s family soon has to kidnap her to explain their secret. As they are telling her the story someone over hears. His name is “The Man in the Yellow Suit”. He runs and tells Winnie’s family. She started to love the tucks and even plans to drink from the spring when she is 17 to marry Jesse, but it has been ruined. Now someone is going to jail. Who is it? What did they do? Will Winnie return home? Will Winnie ever see the Tucks again? Read the book to find out and you won’t regret it!
