I encourage you to read My Side of the Mountain, a realistic fiction book by Jean Craighead George. It is about a boy who runs away from home at the age of 15. Sam (the boy)tries to find a place where his great-grandfather built a farm before becoming a sailor. I'd rate this book an 8 of 10 (10 being the best), and I suggest this book to 5th-early 7th grade adventure lovers. I gave this book an 8 because the ending could have been better. So, if you want a Newberry Honor book to read, choose My Side of the Mountain.
