In reading class I was assigned to read Walk Two Moons By Sharon Creech. I was completely astounded. I had heard a lot of good things about this book, and it was amazing. The characters had a depth to them, as if they were real. The only confusing part was how the bookwent from right then in the present to their life in Ohio, which was in the past. Children from ages nine to twelve would enjoy this book the most, but it would still be okay for antone older. I would give this book a nine and a half on a scale of one to ten.
In this book, Walk Two Moons, Salamanca Hiddle lived on a farm in Bybanks, Kentucky. But then her mother ran away to Idaho, promising she would return. A year later Sal and her father move to Ohio and she meets Phoebe, a cholesterol-free girl that comes from a strict family. She also meets Ben, a boy who Sal can't sort out her feelings for, and Mrs.Cadaver, the creepy lady that Phoebe and Sal suspects she killed her husband. Sal tells the whole story of Ohio to her Gram and Gramps to visit her mother in Idaho. But, why hasn't Sal's mother visited them? Why hasn't Sal's mother come home? Was she dead, or just breaking her promise?
Based on what you have read, you should be convinced to read this book. Or, if you think this book isn't for you, recommend it to someone that needs a really good book.
