Samantha writes the following about Indian Captive :
Indian Captive is a book about a girl named Mary Jemison. Mary's family and neighbors get captured and taken by the Indians. They traveled over mountains and the Indians took Mary and Davy to go with some Indians, while the rest of them stayed behind. Mary and Davy are dropped off at an Indian fort. Then Mary goes with the Seneca Indians and is forced to stay with them. Indian Captive is a wonderful book. One book that is very similar to Indian Captive is Sign of the Beaver, because they both have a similar setting. One of the aspects that make Indian Captive such a great book is all of the suprises. This book will never make you bored. On a scale from one to ten I would definitily give this book a ten. I recommend Indian Captive for any sixth or seventh graders. If I could change Indian Captive I absolutly wouldn't. Because if I changed any part of the book, no matter where, it wouldn't be such a wonderful book. I think changing the book might take away from its wonderful suprises.
