In reading I have been readinga novel called The Great Gilly Hopkins. The Great Gilly Hopkinsis the best book I have ever read in a long time!!! This novelcaught my attenion when Giily stole money from her neighbor Mr.Randolf. I would recomend this book ages 9-up. The reaon I would recomend this book ages 9-up is the kids/adults would understand Gilly more, and relate to her betterthan younger children.
This novel is about a 11 year old girl named Gilly Hopkins. She has been in several foster homes. She has this bad girl act so she doesn't get her heart broken again. She gets put into the Trotter familey. In the Trotter familey there was Trotter, Willam Ernest, and Gilly Hopkins. Gilly was searching for her mother, and she kept writting her. Her mothers name is Courtney Hopkins. In the middle of the novel Gilly became more nicer than she was in the begining of the novel. A week before Thankgiving, Mr.Randolf, their neighbor, got sick, and moved in with the Trotter familey. Then, on Thanksgiving, Willam Ernest, Trotter, and Mr.Randolf were all sick. Gilly took care of all three of them. Gilly got a surprise visitor that day too. It was her Grand mother. Near the end of the book she goes and lives with her Grandmother.
I would give this book a 10/10 because, the novel was sad when she had to leave and go live with her Grandmother. I would also give it a10/10 because, when Gilly writes Willam Ernest, Trotter, and Mr.Randolf she writes a lot, and when Willam Ernest writes he writes very little, and when Mr. Randolf, and Trotter write Gilly they write a lot. It's really funny.
