Alex writes the following about The Tale of Despereaux :
The Tale of Despereaux is a story about a mouse named Despereaux who falls in love with a human princess. Despereaux is banished to the dungeon for speaking to humans. He soon escapes and learns that the princess is missing. Despereaux discovers a rat named Roscuro is behind the kidnappig. The book follows Despereaux's many adventures as he sets out to rescue the princess and solve the mystery of why it happened and who was responsible.

I would give The Tale of Despereaux a 5/5 because I've never read a book about a mouse rescuing a princess.Another reason I would give this a 5/5 is because I like how it changes the perspective of good vs. evil. That's why I would ive this book a 5/5.

This was one of the best fantasy stories I've ever read. I would recommend this book to grades fourth, fifth, and sixth.
