Justin writes the following about Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry :
This story is about an African family living very poorly. They are hated by all others because of racism and they live in the heart of a white neighborhood. Even the kids are continously laughed at by the students and even the teachers in a poor school. Even in markets, they are made fun of. The family is in trouble each year because they barely make enough for their food and even less to sell. They work hard but it is a very hard living.
I strongly recommend this book for your reading.
