Tally lives in a perfect world. Everything works and everythings perfect. When you turn 16 you get a surgery to turn pretty then you move on to live with everyone else. Tally couldn’t wait until she turned 16. That was until she met Shay. Shay knew about life past their perfect little city. She knew about what happened in their little city and why they needed to get out. Shay’s friends have all run away before her too. They go to this place called the Smoke. The Smoke is were everyone fights for their food, shelter, and everything they need to survive by roughing it out in the woods. Tally find it hard to belive and doesn’t go with Shay. Then the night before she turned pretty she got afraid of what might happen to her if she stayed in her perfect city so she ran away. When she got to the smoke she fell in love with it and everyone there. She tried to get rid of her tracking advice from her old city but the only question is will she be able to escape her old city forever?
I would give this book a 10. It keeps the reader interested the whole way threw. It is appealing to both girls and boys of every age. Also The author makes up all kinds of outrageous situations and you’ll have no idea what he’s talking about but then he’ll compare it to something everyone knows about so you get a really clear picture in your head.
