Blake A. writes the following about Among the hidden :
Among The Hidden is a great book with tons of suspense. The way the story is written keeps you from putting the book back down. The plot of the story is perfect for the book, the way he grows up on the farm and is able to be outside with his two older brothers and was able to farm with his dad in the fields back behind his house. Then the conflict of the goverment cutting down the trees that surround his house and the fields was well played out adding more drama and dangerous decision making on his part. my favorite part was when he finds out that one of his neighbors is a third child and eventually gets his way to her house to meet her. Its a relly rushing scene in the book. This is my favorite part because it felt like the climax because he finally gets out of the house and gets to find out if it really is a third child or not. "Then, more to herself than to him, Mother added, 'And things could be worse." "He had never disobeyed the order to hide. Even as a toddler, barely able to walk in the backyard's tall grass, he had somehow understood the fear in his mother's voice."
