baller 729 writes the following about Night Hoops :
Night hoops is a 250 paged realistic fiction novel written by Carl Deuker. In this book, a kid named Nick Abbot loved to play basketball but he lived in a neighborhood that was very poor and couldn’t afford to have the best hoops at their park. So, his dad built him a court in his backyard so he could play on it. Nick wanted to be the best basketball player that he could become so every day he practiced on that hoop. For a while he didn’t play because he experienced some bad times like his parents getting a divorce and he started to hang out with the wrong people. I rated this book a 10 out of 10 because I also love basketball and I loved how Nick improved so much just by practicing every day and night. Something that I would change about this book is, I would have Nick live in a better neighborhood with better people.
