The Alchemist is a book that I found to be quite entertaining. Although the beginning was not as exciting as i thought it should be, the plot was interesting and kept me reading. The books main theme -to follow your dreams, and listen to your heart- is one I find to be quite true and a theme which we can all apply to our lives.
Another reason this book appealed to me is because of its originality. Throughout the book, the book meets a variety or people, and towards the end turns himself into the wind and blowing down an entire camp. (I don't see Harry Potter doing that)
Even so, I found that in order to read this book and understand it to the fullest, your must not read with a skeptical eye but instead with an open mind toward new concepts and ideas.
I recommend this book anyone who wants to widen their understanding and their perspective on life. 8.5
