“V.F.D. means-” Duncan Quagmire had yelled to the Baudelaire triplets as Count Olaf’s car raced off. You will not figure this out until near the end of the book, so if you do not like suspenseful books do not read this book. Other wise this entire series would be fine. Although Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire will, and already have experienced, many issue filled guardians and their life has been ruined from that and their parents were killed in a house fire. That is what started their misery.
Mr. Poe has once again not found a good guardian. Mr. Squalor and Mrs. Squalor are nice but cannot see through easy disguises. Count Olaf is concealing himself as a man named Gunther. Mrs. Squalor is acutely helping Olaf. When the Baudelaire triplets figured this out they were not very happy.
