The Anybodies

“The greatest Anybodies of all time could take on the body of a table, of a flea!” The Anybodies, by N.E. Bode was one of the best fantasy books I have read. It was exciting and suspenseful. Fern used to live with her parents, the Drudgers, but she knew that she did not fit in. Then, Fern finds out that she was accidentally switched at birth! When she goes to live with her real father, she finds out that he has a special ability that very, very few other people have. He is an Anybody. An Anybody can become anyone, or anything, they want! Even though he is very good, there are still many tricks that the Bone, Fern’s father, still does not know. Everything he needs to know is in a book that belonged to Fern’s mother. Fern and her father have to get to the book before the Miser, the best Anybody, but yet the most evil Anybody. When they realize where the book is, they must retrieve it before the Miser gets his hands on it.
Besides the plot, the book has other strengths that make it a great book, like the fantasy genre and the characters. I love fantasy books. This book was filled with amazing things. There were things like a man turning into a snake, to a fairy popping out of a book. In the book, it was even possible to reach inside of a painting with a pond on it, and feel the water! The events that happened in this book wasn’t like anything else that I have read. The characters in the book were very easy to picture. I loved that not one character was the same as another. They included an evil Anybody, an old woman, a young girl, and a tough, yet understanding man. Each character ahs their own personalities that you know, just by reading the book. If you do read The Anybodies, you will notice all of these parts of the book that I have said. I enjoyed spending my time reading The Anybodies. It is well written, understandable, and exciting. So, if your are looking for a great book to read, The Anybodies is the perfect book!
