First of all, you might want to read "A Child Called IT" and "The Lost Boy" before you read "A Man Named Dave". It starts off by describing how his mother abused him. Then it went to the police taking him into foster care. He stayed in foster care until he was 18 and loved the parents thta he had stayed with. After he left he joined the air force to be a pilot but mostly to be a fireman like his dad. He learned he couldn't be a fireman which sort of cruhed him. He met a girl named patsy at the pool by his apartment though. THey had a kid named Stephen and they divorced after eight years. He married a girl named marsha and i believe they are still married. David confronted his mother a few times and she was still pretty nasty. He was with his dad in the hospital when his dad died. He also attended his mother's funeral. Dave is still a great guy and is trying to reach out to as many children as possible.
