Jason writes the following about Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes :
Sadako is about a girl who loves running. When she was 2 years old, there was a atom bomb blast, over her town, Masahiro.9 years later, sadako, at age 11, loves running. But when the dizzy spells start, it starts to affect her running. She tries to ignore it until one day it got so bad, she fainted! She is taken to the Red Cross hospital, and is told she has the atom bomb disease, luekemia. In a state of denile, she tells herself its not true. Her friend, Chizuko, tells her about the legend of " The Thousand Paper Cranes ." If a ill person is sick, and if they fold a thousand paper cranes, the gods will grant her a wish. Halfway to 700 hundred paper cranes, her family visited her. Then she falls into a deep sleep, and she never woke up...
