Nadine writes the following about Out of the Dust (Newbery Medal Book) :
This book is about a girl named Billie Jo. She lives in Oklahoma. Her mother died giving birth to her brother. She ran away on the train. A man gets on the train. Later he eats all of her biscuits she had for food. He left a photograph of his family. She went back home because she missed her father.

The strengths in this book are the fact that the author uses good voice in her writing. Weaknesses are she didn't describe her mother and brother very well.

I recommend this book to anyone. I'm a mystery or scary story person, but anyone should like this book because it can really relate to anyone!!!
