Kentorius Raje writes the following about Out of the Dust (Newbery Medal Book) :
This book is about a girl named Bellie jo and she loses her mother and brother because her dad put a pail of kerson by the stove and her mom had put it in the hot pan and it blew her on fire and the babby boy and Bellie jo thinks that it is her fault and is very sad at herself and like her dad had went and got dronk and Bellie jo was mad at himforthat one day Bellie johad ran west and did not want to go back and she meet a man that was on there too but to but she wanted too go back when Bellie jo got back she went back to doing what she always do play the piano and she meet a nice guy andhe was the nicest guy well one day dad had went to night school but Bellie jo thought that he went there to meet a girl and Bellie jo was a little happy but a little happy but she didn't want to start another family dad had meet a wommen and her name was Louise and she came to dinner that night and Bellie jo and her dad started talking again since louise had came and they had long conversations and Louise came to dinner every night already 12 times and she went every where they went and Bellie jo said that she didnt want her going every where they went and she didnt want her near her mothers grave because it is disrespting her but Bellie jo did like alot.I LOVE THIS STORY!
