Casey writes the following about Out of the Dust (Newbery Medal Book) :
Out of the Dust is about a girl named Billie Jo Kelby, around the age of 14. Billie Jo lives in Oklahoma with her family of her, father, mother, and soon to be her baby brother,Franklin. The book takes place in 1934-1935. This book has many strengths. I honestly only think this book only has one weakness. It's strengths are really the whole book, espeacailly the part where Billie Jo runs away and meets the hobo. The one weakness is when Franklin and the Ma dies. That's not my favorite part. I absolutly recommend this book. This book should be read all around! By all ages! But,you should read it!
