Bryant writes the following about Out of the Dust (Newbery Medal Book) :
Yeeee hawwwwww we live in the dust bowl days and they aren't that good. Everything is you know ...... dust. This book was through 1934-191935. Billie Jo, man I tell you, she loves her piano and won't stay off of it, but now since her Mom and Brother died she won't touch it. She doesn't really talk to her dad that much, because she doesn't think they have that much in commom. Once they get to know each other, they are two peas in a pod.

The setting was described well. The point of view was 3rd person. I think this book was really good although I did not like the ending, because it did not give enough detail.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Historical Fiction. I loved this book!
