ching chang wang writes the following about Sleeping Freshman Never Lie :
I read, (my teacher read), a book called Sleeping Freshman Never lie. The main character are Scott. Scott’s family is kind of quite. Scott’s friends in high school are Patrick, Kyle, and Carlos.
The book begins with Scott beginning high school. Scott’s mom is also pregnant at the beginning of the book. The plot of this story is that Scott is writing a journal about tips on “surviving” high school.
Some interesting events in the story are when one of Scott’s friends tries to commit suicide. Scott franticly asked all the kids he knew if they knew who the kid was. Luckily it wasn’t on of Scott’s good friends. But Scott did know the kid, so he visited him in the hospital.
Another important event that happened in this story is Scott became the schools newspaper writer. Most of his story’s were about how his schools football team almost always lost. He would make up tom swifty’s. Tom swiftys are phrases that describe what the person said and how they said it. For example: “I am alive, Tom said lively.”
The last important event that occurs in this book is Scott’s mom has a baby. It’s a very brief event in the book but it is an event.
This book has many events that I can relate to. Like how Scott is a multi sport athlete and he is finding it hard to do school and sports at. Or how Scott is having a hard first week of school like many kids. Or how older kids pick him on. I’ve experienced all of these events. And that makes the book even better, if you are a boy between the ages of thirteen and fifteen this would be a really good book for you.
