Stephanie Cole writes the following about The House on the Gulf :
I read the book The House on the Gulf. It is about this girl named Brit Lassiter and her brother Bran Lassiter and their mom. The story starts off by Brit and their mom find out that Bran has offered to house sit for the Maquies'. The moment that they finally get moved in Bran starts acting really weird. He yells at Brit because she helps the neighbors out with arrend. Bran keeps something locked up in his closet that she doesn't know what it. Later on Bran tells Brit the truth, the Marquies didn't ask him to house sit. To find out what happens you have to read the whole book. Another cool thing about this story is that it moved me. The reason is that at the end of the book she finds out that her perfect, or used to be perfect, never lying brother, acually lied to her about everything. Just to think that someone that has never done anything bad before did one of the most worst thing that he could do. She acually couldn't believe that he lied to her and their mother, she thought the whole thing was terrible. That was the thing that moved me the most in the story.
