jss writes the following about Rascal :
Rascal is a true story that is a fun book to read. The story happens in 1914. Sterling is a twelve year old boy who lives close to the woods in a small town. Sterling and his friend find a baby raccoon and keep it and raise it into a pet raccoon that is a great companion. Rascal was a very smart animal especially for its kind and could open anything in its way. Rascal got in trouble once by biting one of the 7th grade bullies. There are some sad parts in this book. The lesson to be learned is not to disturb and tame any wild animals. This book is similar to Where the Red Ferns Grow because it was in the woods and the boys and their pets were good companions. I give a 9 out of 10 because it was the second best book I?ve read. It would be good if they made another one .I liked that there were pictures.
