This amazing story is about a struggling fifteen-year-year who?s been discovered that she?s cutting herself and has an addiction doing so. Callie (main character) is recommended by a physician to go to Sea Pines treatment center and is forced to go by her parents. Callie gets some interesting information about anorexic, bulimic, and overweight patients. Callie isn?t much of a talker except when she?s with her psychologist, but after Amanda comes along with the same habit as Callie, will she open up or just shut down?
Callie may have a problem but with her mother always paranoid about her little brother and his VERY dangerously low immunes to diseases, her brother with curious questions about the world because of his rare visits out of the house and with her dad never there, you might say that Callie rarely gets their attention.
This book is very different from another book I read, THE GIRLS, because in that book the characters are purposely dramatic and cravingly desperate for attention. Cut is the same because with realistic characters and situations a lot of real life examples come to mind.
I give this book a rating of 9.2, because I, personally, did not enjoy the ending because? well, you?ll just have to read the book yourself! The reason I gave this book 9.2 is because it could be improved by making it more clearly as to who?s talking or who the characters are talking to.
The author tells us that when you hurt yourself mentally, physically, and intentionally, you are not only hurting yourself, but others around you who care!
